What's on the Demo Tables this Month?

If you've ever set foot in Games & Stuff, you know that the centerpiece of the whole store is our demo section. We obviously love to demonstrate new (or new-to-you) games to our customers, and we think it's that kind of one-on-one attention that makes Games & Stuff the premier tabletop gaming destination in the Baltimore area. So come on in and have a look at this month's demos! That's right, we have new games every single month, so if none of the current group scratch your gaming itch, you can always pop in every few weeks to have one of our knowledgable and enthusiastic staff demo something new for you.

Here's what's on the table for July 2025:

Kids & Family Picks

  • Hammer Time (2-4 players) - In this offering from Haba games, players try to fill their wagons with loot from the mine by actually whacking the play area with a hammer! Any gems that fall off are yours, but be careful, if you knock off too many you'll wake the dragon and he'll steal back his treasure!
  • 13 Beavers (2-6 players) - Can you predict which of the 13 Beavers will be next along your path to Beaver Paradise? Just proclaim if the next Beaver's status is higher or lower than the previous Beaver. If you're right move down the river! If you want to stop and not risk returning to your dam, exclaim "DAM!" and save your progress. First to reach Beaver Paradise wins!
  • License to Krill (2-5 players) - Chaotic cards provide punny oceanic actions allowing players to accumulate Krill Kred. But look out for the hangry plush whale, or he may eat your cards. This game is fishy Hot Potato-style action for the whole family!

Two Player Pick

  • Ironwood (1-2 players) - Players take on the role of either the stalwart Ironclad, or the ferocious Woodwalkers who are engulfed in an epic struggle to control the land's energy-rich crystals. The game is rules-light, tactical, but asymmetrical, so your decisions are deep, options are varied, and objectives are completely different!

Game Night Picks

  • Apothabakery (1-4 players) - As Apothabakers, players will forage for magical ingredients, bake healing confections, and heal reckless adventurers. As you heal your customers, your reputation will grow, but healing everyone is trickier than it seems! The Apothabaker with the best reputation by the end of the day is the winner!
  • Bloomchasers (1-4 players) - Players act as Bloomchasers, who tend to their communal tree by adding branches, placing buds, and blooming flowers. Keep an eye on the weather and avoid setting up your opponents to bloom the most flowers. The stunning 3D tree, branches, and flowers make this game a tactile and visual treat.
  • Cosmolancer (2-4 players) - The life of a cosmic freelance photographer isn't easy. You're competing with the other Cosmolancers to set up the best shots and avoid interstellar disasters. This re-theme of Reiner Knizia's classic Kingdoms is truly out of this world!
  • Kabuto Sumo: Sakura Slam (2-4 players) - In this standalone sequel to the original Kabuto Sumo, players act as wrestling helmet bugs trying to knock their opponents from the arena by sliding disks of various sizes onto the platform. A new arena, new obstacles, and new abilities make this version of Kabuto Sumo a whole new experience!
  • Wandering Towers (2-6 players) - It's graduation day for the wizards at the Ravenrealm Magic School. But to get to the final exam, players move along the tops of 3D towers, or even move the towers themselves, trapping competing wizards along the way, to brew their potions and be the first to reach Ravenskeep!

Please stop in to the store to get more in-depth demos of this month's selected games. We hope to see you soon so we can introduce you to your next favorite board game!
