Hello and Happy New Year!
2023 was a really big year for Games and Stuff. After almost two years of planning, in October we closed down the old shop location and opened our fabulous new 25,000 square foot facility in Harundale Plaza!
Our team worked so hard to make this a reality for everyone, and I cannot sing their praises enough. Everyone from old hands to the newest team members collaborated to get this place open and I'm overjoyed and grateful with the results of their efforts.
And then of course, our community - all of you - turned out in force and have been instrumental in our ongoing success.
Within the new store, in addition to the physical expansion of our existing lines, we've gained the space to spread out into some new territories that I've long wanted to explore! Here's a few highlights!
- Our book department has finally gained it's own dedicated space, and we've brought in tons of the kinds of things you've grown to love about books at G&S. Folklore, science, pop culture, esoterica, tarot, plus new fiction and genre classics have all been given room to really shine. And we've got a brilliant new kid's book department as well!
- Speaking of kids, our children's game department has vastly increased in size, including an all-new children's demo game table!
- LEGO! Long on my personal wish list, we're now carrying Lego! We started small and continued to grow throughout the holiday season. Watch for an even bigger Lego presence in 2024!
- Our second soda cooler is in place and stocked with tons of glass-bottle craft sodas! I personally recommend the Fentimen's Curiosity Cola, Red Ribbon Almond Soda, and Virgil's Root Beer.
- PLUSH! Squishables, Teeturtle and more! Who doesn't want to cuddle up to a soft plush plague doctor, mothman or hydra?
- Did you know we have a private game room for rent? It's available now! We've got a few more improvements on the way, but it's ready for gamers! And the second one will be ready soon!
There's so much to check out if you haven't been in lately. And we're continuing to expand all the time. We've got so many surprises planned in the coming months.
But for now, mark your calendars for Saturday, February 17th, when we'll be hosting our official Grand Opening event celebrating our new store!
